We think we tell stories, but stories often tell us, tell us to love or hate, to see or be seen. Often, too often, stories saddle us, ride us, whip us onward, tell us what to do, and we do it without questioning. The task of learning to be free requires learning to hear them, to question them, to pause and hear silence, to name them, and then become a story-teller.

This web site is a place for all family members to come together and share their stories.  A family is more than births and deaths; it is the web of intricate relationships, connections and tapestries created over time.  Just as the dynamics of families change over the years and generations, so too, this site will change.  To begin with, I, Nancy Ware, will be the “webmaster,” and as such,  I will be the receiver of your stories, and will post them to your webpage.  If any of you want more of the creative reins, just ask - and please offer any suggestions.

The modern twenty-first century family is no longer Mom, Dad, kids and blood relatives.  Our family, which is not atypical, has expanded to include significant others, uncles once removed, in-laws and out-laws.  All are encouraged to participate.

As we collect our stories, none will be refused.  Each author will merit his or her own page.  Topics can range from Oakland A’s to Zen Buddhism - the common thread is that the stories will reveal something about the authors of these tales.  Feel free to submit multiple stories as you think of different experiences and incidences that are worthy of sharing.

We do not predict where this site will lead us, but it is my hope that as we begin to weave our family web, we will be recording family legends for generations to come.

Please email me your stories at nanwebware@sbcglobal.net

The best arguments in the world won't change a person's mind.  The only thing that can do that is a good story.

It is easy to navigate around:

“FAMILY MEMBERS”- Click here to see a list of participants and contributors.  If your name is not underlined, it simply means you have not yet contributed a story.  As soon as you mail me your first contribution, I will make a bio page for you and link it to your story.  It would be very helpful if you sent me the information you wanted included in your bio page as well as any appropriate pictures you may have.

“STORIES”- Click here to find all the stories that have been contributed.  You may also get to individual stories from each member’s bio page.

Also on the “STORIES” site is a link to “REBUTTALS” -a place where family members can refute or respond to a certain story.

This site belongs to ALL of us- so don’t hesitate to offer your suggestions and corrections at any time.
