For Christmas, 2021, Devon sent her Mom a box with twelve envelopes.  She called it "The Little Box of Happy."  Each envelope had the name of one of the months as well as a little picture - a hint of what lay inside.   On the first of every month, Janet took the appropriate envelope and eagerly opened it to find a memory from Devon's childhood.   It was one of the best presents ever, and here we share Devon's memories for her mother.

Mom ~

Whenever I hear the Bee Gees or the Carpenters on the radio, my mind drifts to a light blue station wagon.  This was when I was 11 years old, living in Conn. and would drive to Litchfield to visit Aunt Jean & cousins.  On the drive, you would turn the radio up really loud and sing-along - you loved them!  But what always sticks out is the hard, plastic steering wheel and the sound of your rings tapping against it.  Rat-a-tat with the beat.  It filled my heart with such excitement to see the power of music.  To this day, when I hear the Bee Gees or the Carpenters, this memory floats to my thoughts and brings a smile to my face for bringing such happiness to us!

I love you!
