The following email was sent by Devon after the memorial service:

I'm so glad to hear that what could be a very sad time has brought the family close and aloowed you all time to rejoice in Dan'ts life.  As soon as I got your email, I remembered that Dang had written the cookie recipe down for me, so I went to my recipe box and pulled it out.  Here it is:

DANG'S FAMOUS PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

5T Peanut Butter

1 large package butterscotch chips

4 cups Corn Flakes

Mix Peanut butter and chips together in a saucepan over medium heat until melted.  Gradually add corn flakes.  Mix well.

Drop by the teaspoon on to a cookie sheet.  Refrigerate.

We'll all look down on our loved ones one day

Who are saddened by us being gone.

But the love inside each will always stay,

With memories that will last forever long.

As Dang has left us I reminisce,

Of times spent with her over the years.

I think of those times as special gifts,

Which hold her to my heart close and dear.

Poached eggs in cool ups for Gramps and I,

She made for breakfast each morn.

As we sat and watched boats go by,

And she laughed as they blew their horns.

Corn Flake cookies with butterscotch chips,

She brought with her each visit.

Always so pretty wit her bright colored lips,

And the shiny case that went with it.

Her jewelry she wore always sparkled and shined,

And she always let me try it on.

I’d look in the mirror and admire how fine,

A lady like Dang I looked with it on.

Tickly, Tickly on the knew,

Are words I remember well!

I share them with Tyler and Sydney,

Who will share them with their kids as well.

As I write these words down it brings tars to my eyes,

But those tears come with a smile your see.

As the thoughts continue through my mind,

Dang is forever with me!
