Timothy, Nicholas and Matthew are very creative boys and love telling stories. This is one they worked on together with their Dad to send to NanNan as a Christmas present.

December 2012

Once upon a time there were three capivaras. Their names were Captain Fofinho, Bonitonho, and Oliver. They lived in a river next to an oak tree.

One day their mom called them into the living room and said: “I want to go to San Francisco because my cousin lives there.”

“But Mommmmmmm, we can’t afford a plane trip to San Francisco! We live all the way up here in Canada!”

“Well,” said their mom, “we haven’t been there in a long time and my cousin just had a granddaughter and I really wanted to see her.“

“Wait ,” said Captain, “I have an idea. Let’s build a boat. Let’s build an aircraft carrier!”

“No way!” said Fofinho Bonitinho, “ I want to build an airplane.”

“No,” said Oliver, “we need to build a Jeep.”

“Those are all great ideas,” said their mom. “Let’s build them all.”

And so the three capivaras set to work… Bang! Saw! Pling! Oww my finger! Stupid hammer! Aieeee! Owch!

Three days later they were done. And they set off for California. Captain set out in his Aircraft Carrier. Fofinho Bonitinho went in his plane. And Oliver started on the road in his Jeep. They all took different paths and decided that they would race to see who was fastest.

Captain Bonitinho’s plane trip went as follows: He left Northern Canada in a hurry. He saw many animals, squirrels, ladybugs, and monkeys.

He went so fast that he arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, he was lost, and arrived in the wrong place. He landed in Oregon.

Captain Fofinho loaded up his aircraft carrier that had radar, and steamed out to sea. He sailed through the calm calm sea, and while he was going, he saw Hawaii. He docked there and had a delicious lunch. Then he set out to sea, and it started to rain. He entered the bridge, and tried to control the ship as a strong storm came up.

He was washed ashore on a deserted island, where he found a huge treasure of gold. He loaded the riches on his ship and then set out again for the US coast. But the storm threw the ship off course and when Captain saw the shape of the land on the satellite image he saw that he had ended up in Oregon.

Oliver set out in his Jeep. The road was made of dirt, and was bumpy. It rattled Oliver terribly. Once he ran out of gas but it was lucky that he had a few spare tanks strapped to the Jeep. He saw many waterfalls, and crossed many rivers. He saw tigers, and other capivaras and said hello to them as he drove past. They were very surprised to see a capivara driving a Jeep. Soon he arrived in Oregon and there he saw his brothers!

ON THEIR WAY…. They all loaded their vehicles onto Captain’s aircraft carrier and set off for San Francisco.

They saw

        DOLPHINS                                      WHALES               and      SHARKS...      SHARKS!!!!

They arrived there together, and drove the Jeep to Grandmother’s house. They had a yummy dinner of hot dogs, mashed potatoes, and turkey.

And for dessert: pumpkin pie and popsicles!

The End...
