The Trip to Florida
by Siena Guglielmi
I thought that a good family memory would be about this summer when I went to Florida to visit my relatives. It was a very long plane ride but I managed to stay awake. When we finally got to Aunt Janet’s house it was 1:00 in the morning. I slept late so by the time I woke up they were already getting ready to go. First we went to pick up my cousin’s, Emerson and Olivia. They were so excited to see me!

Then we met Uncle Larry at the beach. I jumped in the water—it was freezing cold! I was not used to Florida water. It also tasted like salt, it was gross!
That night I had a sleepover at Olivia and Emerson’s house. They have a swimming pool so we went swimming. We read and went to bed. In the morning we got dressed and ready to go. Aunt Janet and Nana came and picked us up and we went to Rapids Water Park. We went on a ride that was pitch black and very scary. Then we went on Baby Blue which Nana thought was super scary. First you go in this black tunnel, then you go around twice and then you fall into a little pool. Nana went in front of me so she got very worried. She asked a man who worked there if I would be alright. The man said I would be fine and kids usually do better than grown-ups. The man also said that when you come down the ride you feel really dizzy and your eyes are closed.
After I got out of Baby Blue I realized I had a rip in my bathing suit. After that I went to Wave Pool—it was really fun. Then we got some snow cones. We took a picture by the Wave Pool. Then we went home.

That night I went to Olivia’s house for ANOTHER sleepover! In the morning we went to an Indian Reservation. First we went on a boat ride in the swampy water and saw a lot of alligators. Then we went back to have lunch. After lunch we all looked around at the animals. Then we got in line for the venomous snake show.
