We Are Mothers
By Claudine Ware
Being a mother is not a single role - it's a lifetime of evolving love. It's showing up, day after day, as both anchor and wings.
It’s guiding without controlling, knowing when to speak and when to simply be near.
We are nurturers, listeners, teachers,
healers, protectors, and peacekeepers.
We are there for the big moments and
the quiet ones in between. We show
that strength and softness can live side
by side, that boldness and forgiveness
are not opposites, but partners.

We don’t just care—we inspire.
We model courage, curiosity, and compassion,
even when the world makes it hard.
And even when our children are grown,
our role is not done.
We continue to guide them to reflect upon
their choices. We remind them of their
values when life might steer them wrong.
We celebrate their accomplishments,
however grand or small.
We gently scold. We applaud loudly.
We are soft. We are understanding.
We are fierce. We are loud. We are bold.
We are forgiving. We are accepting.
We are caring. We are nurturing.
We are mothers.
