Haden R. Webster Ware

An explanation of the name:

Being an unexpected pregnancy, it was presumed, by his mother, that Haden would naturally be a girl! Upon confirming that he was, indeed, a boy, his parents needed to come up with a name. Nathan? Nathaniel? Rutherford? Hayden? (Hayden Ware was one of eight Ware brothers to come from England and settle in Kentucky.) After much discussion, Tom and Nancy settled on Hayden Webster Ware. Tom was really enamored with the name Rutherford - “How about Hayden Rutherford Webster Ware?” he mused. How ridiculous, Nancy thought- but in her postpartum stupor, she agreed to acknowledge her husband’s wishes. The birth certificate read: Hayden R. Webster Ware. Then, within a short time, it became clear that the original Ware relative spelled his name, “Haden.” Since he was named after this ancestor, it made sense to have his name spelled correctly. We sent in our $10.00 to the New Haven bureau, and his birth certificate came back with Hayden crossed off and Haden typed in above.  Thus:

Haden R. Webster Ware

Haden was an unexpected delight as the final son for Nancy and Tom Ware, joining his two older brothers, Michael and Arthur. From the very beginning, he was a people-person. Hating to sleep alone, his Mom would put him in his tiny infant chair, plop him in the middle of a rowdy group of boarding school students, and he would fall asleep.

He had charisma, and drew friends from different groups with different interests. When his parents divorced, Haden came to California with his Mom, kicking and screaming! After completing his eighth grade year, he made a hasty return to the East Coast where he graduated from B.B.& N. before returning to the University of California at Berkeley. Berkeley and Haden were not a good mix, so when given the opportunity to help some entrepreneurs out in their new business in the Caribbean, he jumped on it. This decision has led him on many wild adventures from Antigua to Ireland to Germany and Montenegro many of which he shared with his wife Julia.

His marriage ended and he left Montenegro in October of 2014 after having adventures with an antique firetruck, some students of poker, two dogs, many cats and his new Harley.  His most outstanding achievement is Phaedrus, a "hole-in-the-wall" school for curious young Montenegran children.

He is now happily sharing his life with Nicole Jardim from Antigua and their three Antiguan street dogs in their beautiful hoe in Woodbury, CT.
