So This is My Life

The Girl of Many Faces

Sydney has always been unique and is one of those people who can do anything she sets her heart and her mind to doing. Even as a young child, Sydney was always willing to try new things. Life to her is an adventure with many winding roads and she is in a hurry to go down each and every one of them. As a very young child, Sydney showed immediate talent as a drama queen and dancer when she and her Grandma would put on dance shows and musicals to delighted audiences. She loves music and adores to sing and will get up in front of anyone to perform even to this day. She played violin in middle school, taught herself how to play the guitar, and in the middle of her senior year in high school she bought herself a ukulele!! Later, Sydney would join the dance team in her high school and performed at many competitions. She is also very good at sports playing on the basketball and soccer teams. Sydney is an AVID reader and her most recent purchases are East of Eden, Moby Dick and Walt Whitman. Even as a baby, with her mom working for a book publisher, she would sit in her room for hours looking at books. She has an innate ability to pull out meanings from words that are inspiring.

One of the most enigmatic things about Sydney is the way she can change her image. She might be called the Meryl Streep of the family because she can take on many roles. She can look seductive, crazy cute, petulant, and adorable - all within minutes of each other. Sydney started her college adventure at Texas Tech, the Red Raiders, her first and only college choice. She headed to Lubbock, TX in the fall of 2013, home of Buddy Holly, to begin a new adventure studying business and prelaw. She will say good-bye to the capital city of Texas and be introduced to tumbleweeds, cotton fields, and oil drills, but as always, embrace her sense of independence.
